How to use it
- Inspect each cold water storage tank periodically (commonly annually) for a close-fitting lid, insect screens on overflow/vent, and a clean interior.
- Record the stored water temperature and note any sediment, scale, corrosion or biofilm seen.
- Where defects are found, log the remedial action and feed it into your action tracker; schedule cleaning and disinfection if the tank is contaminated.
- Confirm inspection frequency against your risk assessment and HSG274 Part 2 rather than assuming a fixed interval.
