Cooling tower / evap condenser logbook
An operating logbook for cooling towers and evaporative condensers (HSG274 Part 1), capturing routine checks such as dip slides, biocide dosing, conductivity, pH and visual condition.
Print-ready PDF with the columns laid out, or the CSV to fill in on a computer.
| Date | Tower / system ID | Dip slide result | Biocide dosed (Y/N) | Conductivity µS/cm | pH | Visual condition | Action taken | Initials |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2026-06-10 | CT-01 (roof) | Satisfactory | Y | 2100 | 8.2 | Clean; no biofilm | None required | AB |

Sample rows are illustrative. Download the PDF for a clean print-ready form, or the CSV to fill in digitally.
How to use it
- Use as the routine operating log for each cooling tower or evaporative condenser, recording the weekly and other checks set by your written scheme and HSG274 Part 1.
- Record biocide dosing, microbiological dip-slide results, conductivity/bleed and pH so treatment performance can be trended.
- Note the visual condition of the pack, drift eliminators and water, and log any cleaning or corrective action taken.
- Compare readings against the control limits in your treatment programme and HSG274 rather than assumed figures, and escalate persistent out-of-range results.
