How to use it
- Open a record for any legionella-related incident: a suspected or confirmed case, an outbreak, persistent positive sampling, or a significant control failure.
- Decide and record whether the matter is reportable under RIDDOR, and note who you reported it to (HSE or local authority) and when.
- Document liaison with UKHSA / public health and your investigation and remedial actions, keeping the entry open until resolved.
- Treat this as part of your emergency response plan; confirm reporting duties against current RIDDOR and HSE guidance as the responsible person should not self-diagnose reportability without advice.
