How to use it

  • Record your plan for closed or low-use periods - either maintain flushing and temperatures or drain down systems to control stagnation.
  • Before reopening, flush thoroughly, disinfect where the risk assessment indicates, and confirm temperatures and any disinfectant residuals.
  • Sample before return to use where the risk assessment or duration of closure justifies it, and review the risk assessment after prolonged closure.
  • Sign off each system as fit to reopen; reference HSG274 and current shutdown/reopening guidance rather than assumed periods.
