An outlet failed its temperature check

A sentinel or representative outlet missed its target (hot below 50 °C, or cold above 20 °C). Confirm it is real, find the cause, correct it, and record it. An untracked drift is exactly what enforcement looks for.

Do this now

  1. 1Re-run the reading correctly: let the outlet run long enough and measure at the right point before you conclude it failed.
  2. 2Diagnose the cause: low calorifier or return temperature, a TMV blending downstream, a dead leg, or cold water warming near a heat source.
  3. 3Correct it and re-check; if it cannot be fixed at once, manage the outlet (restrict, sign, or flush) in the meantime.
  4. 4Record the out-of-range reading, the cause, the action and the re-check, do not just tick the next month clear.
